Issue 1.0: Easy Answers

Some of the questions we hear most frequently:

Log Directly into an Application

Q. Is there any way a user can log directly into an application? When my users log in, they go to the “My QuickBase” page. I’m aftraid they’ll forget what to do on that page.

A. This comes up a lot because many QuickBase users just use it for one part of their job, and they aren’t too familiar with it. Here’s the answer: open QuickBase yourself and then open the dashboard of your application. Copy the web address (it will look similar to this:
https://www.quickbase.com/db/bdh4dvvfr). Give that address to your users.
They will click on the link, QuickBase will recognize that they have not logged in, so it will ask them to log in. Then QuickBase will remember where they really wanted to go and bring them straight to that application.

Make those Yellow “New” tags go away

Q. Whenever I create a report, I see that yellow “New” flag on the far left. Can you get rid of that?

A. You can clear them from a report once you generate the report by clicking on “Other” in the blue bar at the top of the report, and then on “Clear the New and Updated Flags.” However, next time you run the report, if there are new records, the flags will be back  — there is no way to eliminate them permanently.

How to Find your Data

Q. Is there an easy way to find data in my application? I don’t know which table it is in.

A. Use the Quick Find feature. Select the “Find” menu in the top menu bar, directly above the blue bar menu.  This version of Find starts off by searching for a word or phrase in your entire application.  The results are shown using the default report format for each table that contains the word or phrase.

You can also select a single table or the Advanced Find option.  Advanced Find lets you search with criteria combining multiple fields in a single table at the same time.
